Lastly, Nym is short for Nymeria, who is the most famous female warrior in the history of the story's world, and ties nicely back to one of the main character's, the Wolf Princess Arya Stark and her dire wolf (who seems to be the only living dire wolf in the series at this point).Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. A different Sand Snake, Obara, is actually more suited to the class in some respects, as she does use a spear but II would argue against Obara: Lady Nym works better as a name because the use of "Lady" is an ironic reference to someone that is not legitimate nobiility but posseses other characteristics (such as the Shield Breaker's noted beauty) that mark her as something of a person of importance. Lady Nym - in both the books and the show I believe - makes use of a whip and knives, rather than her Father's (Oberyn Martell) preferred use of the spear. The Shield Breaker, with her focus on Spear & Shield combat, her connection with Snakes, and her somewhat Eastern appearance and background is absolutely based on the Sand Snakes from those novels. Lady Nym is one of the Sand Snakes in GRRM's Game of Thrones Novels (and calling them 'A Song of Ice & Fire' makes no sense to me considering how much time is spent on the 'Game' and how little is spent on the 'Song' (though obviousy that's a different discussion, sors)). So, I'm going to make a suggestion and explain why: Lady Nym Almost every other class has a default name - including the Flagellant - so far as I'm aware, but I don't know that there's a default one for the Shieldbreaker.
